'Steve Jobs' private funeral to be held today

Steve Jobs, will be buried Friday, sources mentioned the same day. His ceremony was cast by the WSJ as a "small private gathering" focused on friends and family. The location wasn't being given out as a matter of respect for the Jobs family's privacy.

His ceremony follows just two days after his death from illnesses in the wake of a liver transplant.

Publicly, Apple hasn't planned events but has been supportive of fans' interest in paying tribute. Along with revamping its front page for a solemn dedication to Jobs, it has generally been open to fans decorating the outside of stores with tributes to what many consider to be one of the most important executives ever in technology. These have included everything from sticky notes, themselves a tribute to the Mac, to flowers and bitten apples.

Current CEO Tim Cook has been planning an internal company celebration that will include feedback from the general public.
