Hacker ben heck targets x-box 360




Element 14 s Ben Heck, known for his creative hardware mods of electronic gadgets, has now built a game changer out of an old home theater CD changer for the Xbox 360. The video embed from the Element 14 website can be found below for a more detailed look on how Heck achieved this feat. 1

Anyone that plays video games a lot knows that on occasion you are really tired of playing whatever video game you are using and want to change, but you don't want to walk across the room to change it. This is where you get into the age old "it's your turn to change" argument with the other people in the room

The video embed from the Element 14 website can be found below for a more detailed look on how Heck achieved this feat. He removed the Xbox's optical drive for less heat in the Xbox and placed it near the changer, which feeds the Xbox optical drive.




The mod is ideal for the hardcore gamers who want to switch games without going all the way across the room. A controller for selecting the game discs and related software also had to be created for this project.

Unlike his other projects, Heck doesn't finish it, leaving it so on purpose as part of a contest that will let one of the viewers of the show complete it.
