Tag Heuer to introduce link android smartphone

Tag Heuer has introduced the Link Android smartphone that costs $6,750. It comes with a steel, 18-carat rose gold, or titanium finished case, runs Android 2.2, and features a Gorilla Glass screen on a 3.5 inch display. It also comes with 256MB of RAM and an 8GB memory card, which makes it more a piece of luxury tech jewellery than a true high-end gadget.

There is no denying the fact that the Tag Heuer Link smartphone looks like an expensive gadget. With its luxury case and a trim that includes calfskin, alligator, lizard, or carbon leather, there is nothing subtle or understated about this smartphone. Because it is a Tag Heuer, there is also a rather nifty looking crown button on the side that looks exactly like a traditional watch winder.

This phone also comes with a 5 mega-pixel auto-focus HD camera, 11 hours of music playback, and access to over 250,000 applications through the regular Android market. It has been created in partnership with the Meridiist, and supports both 3G GSM and WCDMA networks.

While this phone certainly looks expensive, there is not much else going for it. For example, it runs old generation Android 2.2 and comes with a paltry 256MB of internal storage. However, if you don’t look too closely, it certainly does look impressive – I guess. The Tag Heuer Link smartphone is available in July
