The next version of Windows, Windows 8 is a reimagining of Windows, “from the chip to the interface”. Since Microsoft released Windows 7 is July 2009, it has been busy working on its next OS.
According to Microsoft, already accelerated development of Windows 8 with support for 128 bit platform, and exclusive support by Windows 9.
Working in high security department for research and development involving strategic planning for medium and longterm projects. Research & Development projects including 128bit architecture compatibility with the Windows 8 kernel and Windows 9 project plan. Forming relationships with major partners: Intel, AMD, HP, and IBM.
Robert Morgan is working to get IA-128 working backwards with full binary compatibility on the existing IA-64 instructions in the hardware simulation to work for Windows 8 and definitely Windows 9.

Welcome Screen
The new Welcome screen is a Metro UI and looks similar to the user interface of what we’ve seen on the the Zune and Windows Phone 7. It features the date and time and a list of users on the machine who can login with their password.
Hybrid Booting and Portable Workspaces
Hybrid Booting is an evolution of the existing Hibernate feature that is designed to reduce the boot time. According to Window 8 News http://windows8news.com/, Hybrid Boot reduced the start up time on systems to about 20 seconds.
Portable Workspaces allows you to store a copy of Windows on your USB and run it on different PCs. It requites (at least) a 16GB storage capacity in order to store the required files.
Internet Explorer 10
Windows 8 will come with Internet Explorer 10 which is completely redesigned and promises better browsing abilities. IE10 is set to fullscreen browsing mode by default, implements several new HTML5 capabilities, turbocharges HTML5 performance, and adds some security options for Web applications.

Windows App Store
Microsoft introduced the app store similar to Apple’s App Store. Windows 8 supports two types of apps – Legacy Windows apps and Third-part app written in HTML% and Javascript.

It is reported that Windows 8 is expected to have the same system requirements as Windows 7 and will run on excising PCs/laptops that run Windows 7
Processor: 1GHz or faster 32-bit or 64-bit processor
RAM: 1GB (32-bit) or 2GB (64-bit)
HD Sapce: 16GB (32-bit_ or 20GB (64-bit)
Windows 8 is confirmed to be released sometime in early 2012 by Ballmer, however the official date has not been announced yet.
