The much anticipated Motorola Droid Bionic is finally available in stores, selling exclusively . This is a powerful phone with a very large 4.3 inch touchscreen, although there has been some concern over battery life in initial reviews.
The Droid Bionic features a dual-core 1GHz processor, 1GB of RAM, and an 8MP rear facing camera. The main rear camera is also capable of shooting 1080p video and there is a 2MP camera on the front of the device. However, despite these impressive specs, it is the sheer size of the screen that is sure to get the most attention.

The Motorola Droid Bionic comes with a very healthy 4.3 inch touchscreen, and can also connect to an HDTV through a HDMI connection. This will surely make it very enticing to shoot lots of video and take plenty of photos, so luckily the Droid comes with 16GB of onboard storage, a 16GB pre-installed microSD card, and an SD card slot which can add another 32GB.
The Droid Bionic is a 4G smartphone, which makes it capable of download speeds between 5 and 12Mbps when connected to Verizon’s LTE network. The phone also features 802.11 b/g/n WiFi, Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR, USB 2.0, DLNA, and HDMI.
In terms of software, the Droid Bionic comes with Android 2.3.4, although the much anticipated Ice Cream Sandwich should be on the cards for this phone via an update. Interestingly, it looks like Motorola haven’t done much tweaking to the Android OS, although there are bits and pieces of pre-loaded software. The software that has been getting the most attention is ZumoCast, which is a cloud service that allows users to access video, music, and other data remotely.
With a dual-core processor, huge display, and multiple connectivity options, Motorola look like they have made smartphone shopping that much more difficult.
